ADMINISTRATOR VISITS E-TAGGING PROJECT IN DHA PHASE-VIII

Karachi, 29 Sept 2016: DHA keeps making new interventions and taking innovative measures to provide secure and qualitative living environment to its residents. In this connection, DHA has recently introduced E-tagging facility on experimental basis in Phase-VIII which is the largest and best planned phase of DHA. Administrator DHA Brig Shahid Hassan Ali visited the site of E-tagging pilot project started at one of the entry/exit points of Phase-VIII. The entry/exit of all the vehicles entering the area will be monitored/recorded through electronic tagging which will help to provide enhanced security/safety to the residents. The project will be extended to all 8 entry/exit points of Phase-VIII and the entire info/data will be integrated via fiber optics for monitoring at control room.

Administrator appreciated the technical intervention introduced in Phase-VIII and directed the concerned staff to complete the entire project expeditiously ensuring technical precision and innovative use of state-of-the-art computer technology.

ADMINISTRATOR’S VISIT TO DA HIGH SCHOOL PHASE-VIII

Karachi, 27 Sept 2016: Defence Authority High School Phase-VIII is a charity based school run by DHA to provide quality education to the underprivileged children of the area. Administrator DHA Brig Shahid Hassan Ali visited the school and directed the Development Directorate to carry out complete revamping, refurbishment and upgradation of school premises to ensure provision of best infrastructure and educational facilities to the concerned deptts to develop a green belt, playing grounds and to carry out extensive plantation in the school to provide comfortable, congenial and conducive reading and learning environment for the students.

Director Development, Director Education, Director Horticulture, School’s Principal and other related staff was also present on the occasion.

DHA PHASE-VIII STEERING COMMITTEE MEETING

Karachi, 26 Sept 2016: DHA Phase-VIII Steering Committee Meeting chaired by Administrator DHA Brig Shahid Hassan Ali was held at DHA Head Office to review the progress of the ongoing development works in DHA Phase-VIII. The Steering Committee discussed/evaluated the professional, technical and functional aspects of the infrastructure development, gasification and electrical works being executed in Phase-VIII and took appropriate and pragmatic decisions to speed up the development process.

The main focus of discussion was on devising an integrated and comprehensive strategy for early completion of cable and related civil works and managing sustained supply of equipment to ensure early provision of electricity in maximum sectors of Phase-VIII before they are opened for construction. Project Director Phase-VIII informed the Steering Committee that the work on placement of Pad Mounted Units (PMUs), Kiosks and Feeder Pillar Boxes etc and laying of HT/LT cables in the area was progressing expeditiously to achieve the desired target at the earliest.

Administrator emphasized the need to undertake the ongoing development projects in a phased programme with an objective, prudent and incisive approach. He stressed upon the need of adopting decentralized and multi polarity concepts to ensure reliability, transparency and versatility in project development activities. He added that early development of entire Phase-VIII will be harbinger of a new era of progress and prosperity in the area.

AWARDS FOR PAKISTAN’S TALLEST PERSONS BY DHA

Karachi, 20 Sept 2016: DHA took a dynamic initiative by recognizing Pakistan’s tallest persons, giving them Hi-Roof vehicles and announcing monthly stipends for them as part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity. Mr Ijaz Ahmed of District Bakkhar, Punjab having a confirmed height of 8 feet 1 inch is the Pakistan’s tallest and world’s second tallest living person and also the record holder of the Guinness Record for the biggest shoe size holder while Mr Naseer Sumroo with a height of 8 feet is from remote area of Shikarpur, Sindh and the acclaimed second tallest man of Pakistan. Both the record holders legendaries who are indeed the Pride of Pakistan have been given an imported Suzuki Every Hi-Roof vehicle each and will also get a monthly allowance of Rs. 50,000/= and Rs. 25,000/= respectively from DHA as a welfare and good will measure.

Administrator DHA handed over the keys of vehicles to the tallest man of Pakistan in a simple ceremony held at DHA Head Office.

CHANGE OF COMMAND – DHA KARACHI

Karachi, 20 Sept 2016 : Brig Shahid Hassan Ali took over as new Administrator DHA Karachi replacing Brig Zubair Ahmed who relinquished the command on completion of his meritorious tenure.

Brig Shahid Hassan Ali is a dynamic engineer officer who has worked at various command, staff and instructional appointments and possesses a vast experience of administrative, technical and management matters. He is well known in the Army for his professionalism, dynamism and ability to undertake challenging assignments with a degree of success and accomplishment.

Brig Shahid Hassan expressed his resolve to work with the spirited team of DHA with a renewed zeal and energy to ensure comfort, security and peace of residents. He impressed upon the DHA’s directors to leave no stone unturned in maintaining and further enhancing the stature of DHA as a modern, efficient and vibrant organization.

Earlier Brig Zubair Ahmed was given a befitting send off on his departure from DHA Karachi. A tea out was held at Defence Authority Creek Club to bid him farewell. Brig Shahid Hassan paid glowing tributes to the outgoing Administrator for rendering outstanding services and for his significant contributions towards enhancing the stature and prestige of DHA as a leading Housing Authority of the country.

The outgoing Administrator thanked the DHA officers and staff for extending whole hearted support and co-operation to him during his tenure in the office. Brig Zubair wished his successor Brig Shahid Hassan all the best in his new assignment and hoped that he would steer DHA to greater heights of success and glory.

INAUGURATION OF KIOSK – SEAVIEW BEACH

Karachi, 19 Sept 2016: Administrator DHA Brig Zubair Ahmed inaugurated an elegantly built Kiosk on Seaview beach in front of Defence Authority Beach View Club. The spaciously purpose built structure has been constructed by DHA Development Directorate and will be used as a spot to provide snacks/refreshments to the large number of people flocking the beach in quest of entertainment and enjoyment.

Administrator appreciated the design and quality of Kiosk construction and hoped that it will provide a good and useful facility to the public visiting the beach.

RECEPTION FOR MEMBERS OF DEFCLAREA – DEFENCE AUTHORITY CLUB

Karachi, 09 Sept 2016: A reception was held for the members of Defence/Clifton Association of Real Estate Agents (DEFCLAREA) at Defence Authority Club. Administrator DHA Brig Zubair Ahmed appreciated the role of DEFCLAREA in promoting healthy real estate investment/business activities in DHA. Administrator DHA (Designate) Brig Shahid Hassan Ali was also present on the occasion.

EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING – HQ 5 CORPS

Karachi, 09 Sept 2016: DHA’s Executive Board Meeting chaired by its President, Commander 5 Corps Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar was held at Corps Headquarter. Administrator DHA Brig Zubair Ahmed Briefed the meeting about the salient aspects of DHA/DCK ongoing development projects, new initiatives and futuristic schemes.

President Executive Board appreciated the outstanding services rendered and contributions made by the outgoing Administrator DHA Brig Zubair Ahmed, in enhancing the prestige and stature of DHA as an elite Housing Authority of the country. Administrator DHA (Designate) Brig Shahid Hassan Ali also attended the meeting.

 

RECEPTION FOR MEMBERS OF DEFENCE RESIDENTS’ ASSOCIATIONS – DHA HEAD OFFICE

Karachi, 8 September 2016: A reception (hi tea) was held for the members of various Defence Residents’ Associations in DHA including Association of Defence Residents (ADR), Defence Residents Society (DRS), Defence Society Residents Association (DSRA), Phase-VIII Residents Association and House Wives and Working Women Association (HAWWA) at DHA Head Office. Administrator DHA Brig Zubair Ahmed appreciated the role of Residents Associations for harnessing their positive energies for improving the living environment of community in DHA. He thanked them for extending their co-operation and for providing their invaluable feedback that helped DHA in formulating effective and pragmatic policies.

The Residents’ Associations assured the Administrator of their continued support and their resolve to continue meaningful co-operation with DHA in future. Administrator (Designate) Brig Shahid Hasan Ali was also present on the occasion.
